Bow Before Your Queen Or Bleed Before Her…

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes book three in her Blood and Ash series.

Crown of Gilded Bones review

The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer Armentrout is almost here with its impending release on April 20th, and all I can say is buckle up. The story picks up right where it left of in A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire and readers are immediately thrust into the action-packed, rich world that Jennifer has created. The third book in the Blood and Ash series ends on the biggest cliffhanger yet. If you’re like me and love to binge a book the minute you get it, I recommend taking your time with this one because you will be shook once it’s over. While there is a lot I can say about the revelations in this book, this will be a spoiler free review (for some quote teasers you can scroll below) so you can savor every single moment when you do read it.

Right from the start the story plunges you into the deep end with action, adventure, tension and one revelation after another. As the story unravels, you will be sitting on the edge of your seat and realizing that everything you think you knew, is not the case. Jennifer has this innate ability to keep readers on their toes while still satisfying the need for more from Poppy and Casteel’s relationship and those of the characters that surround them. This book is steamy, thrilling and even though Poppy and Casteel’s relationship has come a very long way from the first and even the second book, there are still so many satisfying moments as they grow even closer.

Poppy and Casteel art

Through these pages, you will get to explore more of Atlantia, and more of the history that has made Casteel, Poppy, Kieran and a lot of the other pivotal characters, the people that they are today. There are a lot of familiar one liners and themes that pop up throughout the book that you have come to love, but there’s even more depth to this book than the last two. It is packed with romance, adventure and so many layers that it will leave you wanting more. After staying up way past my bedtime to read the last couple of chapters, I need the fourth book immediately and also a Netflix series made around this. Netflix, if you’re listening, this is the one.

Poppy really begins to come into her own in this book and just wait until you learn about her true history. It is truly one jaw dropping revelation after another. Jennifer has done a wonderful job of continuing these characters journey’s while leaving the reader with a lot of more questions that will desperately need answers. The author did post on her Instagram that there will be six books in this series now and honestly, the only thing I’m mad about is having to wait for the next book. This will be a thoroughly enjoyable ride for all those who will read it! Get ready for more steamy moments between Casteel and Poppy, way more of Kieran and to learn one truth after another. If you haven’t read the books in the Blood and Ash series yet, start today, you won’t regret it! It’s entertaining, satisfying and offers the perfect little escape from the trying times that we have all be experiencing over the past year. Enjoy! Now excuse me, while I go and recover from this book hangover. This one is the worst one yet.

Teaser Quotes:

“You’ve chosen things for yourself longer than you realize, Poppy–longer than you give yourself credit for. You always did when it mattered the most, and did so knowing the consequences. Because you’re brave. You were never the Maiden. You were never truly helpless. You were smart, strong, and brave.”

“Casteels hand slipped from my neck as shock rippled through him. For a moment,  I thought he might drop his glass of whiskey.” Are you for real?””

“Kieran’s chin dipped, “I have no idea what in the hell any of you are, but whatever you are planning, I strongly advise against it.””

“Her dark eyes glistened with tears as she shuddered. “It’s not my fault.” She turned to me. “I warned you. You didn’t listen.”

Teaser:

She’s been the victim and the survivor…

Poppy never dreamed she would find the love she’s found with Prince Casteel. She wants to revel in her happiness but first they must free his brother and find hers. It’s a dangerous mission and one with far-reaching consequences neither dreamed of. Because Poppy is the Chosen, the Blessed. The true ruler of Atlantia. She carries the blood of the King of Gods within her. By right the crown and the kingdom are hers.

The enemy and the warrior…

Poppy has only ever wanted to control her own life, not the lives of others, but now she must choose to either forsake her birthright or seize the gilded crown and become the Queen of Flesh and Fire. But as the kingdoms’ dark sins and blood-drenched secrets finally unravel, a long-forgotten power rises to pose a genuine threat. And they will stop at nothing to ensure that the crown never sits upon Poppy’s head.

A lover and heartmate…

But the greatest threat to them and to Atlantia is what awaits in the far west, where the Queen of Blood and Ash has her own plans, ones she has waited hundreds of years to carry out. Poppy and Casteel must consider the impossible—travel to the Lands of the Gods and wake the King himself. And as shocking secrets and the harshest betrayals come to light, and enemies emerge to threaten everything Poppy and Casteel have fought for, they will discover just how far they are willing to go for their people—and each other.

And now she will become Queen…
