Robert Irwin Snake Bite – What happened?
Earlier this week, Robert Irwin, Steve Irwin’s son, posted an Instagram video in which he compared how his father had gotten bitten by a snake and how the same species of phyton bit him. The 19-year-old described how he found himself in a similar position to his father’s: he found the snake on the road and tried to rescue it. Unfortunately, it did not go as planned.

“Déjà vu. Dad and me getting bitten by the same species of snake (carpet python) decades apart. I found this python on the side of a road, but as you can see, sometimes snake rescues don’t quite go to plan ?”, Robert captioned the video.
How did Steve Irwin die?

In September 2006, Steve Irwin died while working on a documentary, Ocean’s Deadliest, this source notes. While on break from filming, the Australian hunter went on exploring the wilderness and found a short-tail stingray. After following the animal for some time, the stingray bit Irwin, which led to his death. According to this article, Steve Irwin realized the bit would be fatal, and his cameraman, Justin, noted that his last words were, “I’m dying.”
In September 2022, Robert honored his father on the Australian Father’s Day.

“It’s Father’s Day today in Australia, and I am sending my love to those who are missing their dad today. I cherish all the good times with my dad and feel grateful to be able to keep his memory and legacy alive ❤️”, he wrote.
