Allegedly, the priest got in trouble because he let Carpenter film her music video for ‘Feather’ inside of the church. That church- Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Annunciation Parish- is located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The priest, Msgr. Jamie J. Gigantiello, was reportedly relieved of his administrative duties, as a result, as noted here. The priest later shared an apology for letting the music video happen due to its provocative nature.

Although the priest approved the video, he supposedly wasn’t aware that anything proactive was going to be taking place. However, the church was reportedly “appalled” after seeing the music video. The priest allegedly did not follow proper protocol for filming inside of the church- which included a review of the scenes and the script. As mentioned here, in the video, Carpenter dances inside the church in a short black tulle dress and veil.

The church has since decided to donate the $5,000 that the church was paid to allow Carpenter to film there.
