According to claims from online sources and a TikToker here (@upandadamlive), Nivola reportedly reached out to family and friends, expressing discomfort about filming a particular scene that has recently aired on television.

This act of sharing details about the scene, which involved his character Lochlan Ratliff and his onscreen brother Saxon Ratliff (played by Patrick Schwarzenegger), would seemingly be a violation of the NDA he signed with HBO.

In an interview with Variety (noted here on Newsweek) Nivola himself addressed the controversy. The actor admitted that he struggled to keep quiet about the bold plot point involving his character and Schwarzenegger’s.

Nivola revealed that he told his parents about the scenes but joked that he hadn’t told his sister because “she’s bad at keeping secrets.” He also shared the details with his girlfriend, Iris Apatow, who was with him in Thailand during filming.

“I’m really scared about getting sued by HBO,” Nivola confessed to Variety, acknowledging that he signed several NDAs and was “not supposed to have told anyone” any information about the show.

Despite the apparent breach, it supposedly seems unlikely that HBO will pursue legal action, especially since Nivola’s comments appear to be more out of nervousness and excitement than intentional rule-breaking.

Ultimately, this drama has added to the intrigue surrounding The White Lotus provocative plot, but for now, fans can only wait and see if any further developments will arise.
