The Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer was finally released by Sony after months and months of begging by fans and it did not disappoint.

In the first 24 hours of the trailer being released, it broke the record for the most-viewed trailer. In the first 24 hours, it had a whopping 355.5 million views! Spider-Man: No Way Home beat out Avengers: End Game that held the previous record with 289 million views. The previous trailer for the Spider-Man series, Spider-Man: Far From Home, only generated 135 million views in the first 24 hours.

In the previous film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter Parker’s (Tom Hollands) identity was unmasked by the antagonist of the movie, Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal). Now Peter must deal with the aftereffects of being a teenage superhero who must navigate his newfound notoriety as a misunderstood superhero. With the last movie ending with the world believing Peter/Spider-Man being framed for Mysterio’s death, Peter must prove he is innocent and only has good intentions.

Feeling fed up we see Peter reunite with Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). He asks for Dr. Strange to cast a spell where the world will forget that he is in fact Spider-Man. He quickly realizes this means all his loved ones will also forget that he is. We are not sure how, but it is indicated that Peter somehow ruins the spell and here comes the collapse of the multi-universe and the re-appearance of previous franchise villains, potentially an appearance from the Green Goblin? Fingers crossed.

A common theme in Marvel films is complicated plot lines that weave across other films. There have been many that some previous Spider-Man’s might make an appearance in this film. And yes, the rumours are that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield could be making an appearance. With these rumours and the glimpses, we saw in the trailer of new worlds opening, this may mean a new addition of Spider-Man movies or potentially a television series.

What do you think will happen? Will the previous Spider-Man stars make an appearance? Will we see the Green Goblin? How will Peter tangle his way out of this web?

Until another trailer is released, we can only speculate and dream. Unfortunately, it may be a while before we see another trailer as the movie is not scheduled to premiere until December 17th, 2021. Here’s hoping we get another trailer soon!
