Stanley Tucci Oral Cancer
In a recent interview to be aired on April 30 for Sunday Sitdown, actor Stanley Tucci opened up about living with oral cancer, a diagnosis he received back in 2017, Deadline notes.
Tucci firstly opened up about his former wife and her battle with breast cancer. She passed away in 2009. “My late wife and I, we traveled all over the world trying to find a cure for her.” the actor said. Then, he addressed his own experience living and battling cancer, as well as his emotional struggles. “So when I got it, I was completely shocked,” he said. “I was terrified, absolutely terrified.” Tucci continued. “I lost 35 pounds. I couldn’t eat. I had a feeding tube for six months and everything tasted like you know what and smelled like you know what. And it took months and months and months for me to finally be able to eat again and then taste properly again.”
Tucci then talked about his current wife, Felicity Blunt, and expressed his gratitude for her support. “I was so afraid. But Felicity was very insistent. She was incredible. Still is incredible,” the actor added, as noted by Today.
Stanley Tucci Health
In a 2022 interview for People, the actor addressed his health condition and said he feels “lucky” to be alive. The actor had been experiencing pain in his jaw that wouldn’t go away before doctors found out he was living with a tumor on his tongue. “They couldn’t do surgery because the tumor was so big. It’s a miracle that it didn’t metastasize. It had been in me so long.” Tucci said.
Luckily, Stanley Tucci is now cancer-free!
