SZA’s new edition of SOS has its record-breaking 100th week at number one on the R&B charts.

January 13, 2025-According to Billboard, the album’s standard issue was sitting at 98th on the charts for several weeks. However, the arrival of SOS Deluxe: Lana edition helped push the album to this record-breaking point. For instance, according to New Country935, this has not happened for a female R&B artist since Whitney Houston’s self-titled album spent fourteen weeks at number one in 1986. The album was released on the 20th (here) of December and features fifteen new songs (here).

As outlined in Billboard, the original SOS is a record-breaking album. For instance, upon its release, the album spent 48 weeks on the top R&B albums chart. Moreover, the albums singles Kill Bill and Snooze respectively spent 30 and 32 weeks on top of the Hot R&B Songs Chart. It was a well-received follow-up to her full-length debut Ctrl. The Deluxe edition is further propelling the singer into fame. For instance, the singer has found great success in the music industry leading to many opportunities. This includes a tour with Kendrick Lamar across the U.S and Canada.
