The “Ted” series is the third installment in the Ted franchise after two theatrical films.

On Thursday, Peacock dropped the official trailer of the “Ted” series. It stars Seth MacFarlane, who voiced Ted and Max Burkholder, portraying John Bennett. In the trailer, the prequel series is set in 1993, when Ted’s moment of fame has passed. He’s now back home in Framingham, Massachusetts, with his best friend John. Ted ends up in school with John, who wants experience with drugs, sex and relationships. As a good friend, Ted helps to arrange drugs.

The other cast includes Alanna Ubach, Scott Grimes and Giorgia Whigham. The limited series consists of seven episodes. Seth MacFarlane is the creator of the show, writer and executive producer. Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh also serve as co-showrunners, writers and executive producers. Erica Huggins, Alana Kleiman, Jason Clark, and Aimee Carlson are the executive producers. The production companies are Universal Content Productions, a division of Universal Studio Group, Fuzzy Door and MRC Television.

The series is the third installment in the Ted franchise. Previously, there were two theatrical films, Ted (2012) and Ted 2 (2015). Seth MacFarlane voiced Ted, and Mark Wahlberg played John Bennett in both films. Ted earned $549 million at the box office. Ted 2 made $216 million at the box office.
