The Second Trailer has been released by Warner Bros. Pictures.

After its first trailer was dropped in May. The second trailer of “The Color Purple” is dropped. The Color Purple is based on Alice Walker’s novel of the same name. It’s the musical adaptation of the novel. It stars Fantasia Barrino, Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins and Ciara.

It is directed by Blitz Bazawule and produced by Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Scott Sanders and Quincy Jones.

The plot is based on Celie’s (Fantasia Barrino) struggles as a Black woman living in the American South in the early 1900s.

The second trailer focuses on sisterhood, where sisters Celie and Nellie, who got separated. Celie is played by Fantasia Barrino (elder) and Phylicia Pearl Mpasi (young). Nellie is played by Ciara (elder) and Halle Bailey (young).

It also features a performance by Taraji P. Henson on the song “Push Da Button.”

The executive producers are Alice Walker, Rebecca Walker, Kristie Macosko Krieger, Carla Gardini, Mara Jacobs, Adam Fell, Courtenay Valenti, Sheila Walcott and Michael Beugg.

It will be released in theatres in North America this Christmas and internationally beginning on 18 January 2024. Watch the trailer below.
