Finally, the wait is over. The girls of the pop sensation BLACKPINK, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, are here!
The latest single of Blackpink, “Pink Venom,” has a stunning music video. In three minutes and 13 seconds, Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie, and Rose went through what appeared to be 20 different costumes.
There are lots of references to high-end clothing brands as well. The most well-known is Celine, to whom Lisa offers a particular tribute halfway through the song. She raps while sporting a bucket hat with the Celine logo and overalls that reveal her GCDS underwear.
“This the life of a vandal, masked up and I’m still in Celine / Designer crimes or it wouldn’t be me, ooh,” she raps. It appears to be the only Celine appearance in the video, which is surprising.
The song’s first line is, “Kick in the door, waving the coco.” Sung by Jennie, it might be a nod to Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, the woman who started the Chanel fashion house.
The Blackpink ladies, Lisa with Celine, Rose with Saint Laurent, Jennie with Chanel, and Jisoo with Dior, all share a special bond with a French luxury fashion house.
Each has been named the respective brand’s global ambassador. This makes Jisoo’s choice to wear the newest Dior line in the song video obvious. Especially the sleeveless cropped tank demonstrates Jisoo’s seamless ability to embody Dior‘s more modern side. In one scenario, she was covered head to toe by the brand. The outfit is part of the Autumn/Winter 2022 collection.
Rosé elevates rocker style. Her monochromatic look, which is centred on a Saint Laurent latex minidress, demonstrates the adaptability of black. Rosé’s ice hair creates the ideal contrast and fits in perfectly with the cool-girl style that characterises Blackpink.
The K-pop girl group also used clothing made by Miss Sohee, GCDS, Fanci, Vivienne Westwood, Marina Eerrie, Jeff Hamilton, Alexander Wang, Sicko Cartel, Demobaza, and other brands.
Check out some of the trends in the video below!
Jisoo also emulating Y2K reality. It harkens back to 2000s red carpet fashion with faded Daisy Dukes and an altered ruffled top. Jisoo is clearly serving Y2K with her own style when you add the braided headbands going across her hair to the ensemble.
The miniskirt and sweater combination is perhaps the first thing that springs to mind when we think Miu Miu. Lisa wears a miniskirt that similarly beckons to us in “Pink Venom.” She has such a dramatic silhouette thanks to the layered, raw-hemmed outfit.
In the Video, Jisoo and Rosé accessorise with chokers in radically different ways. Two of the most significant Korean artists are wearing this late ’90s/early ’00s trend. Rosé wears hers layered, with the wrap necklace directly on top of the gold heart choker by YSL. And Jisoo’s lacy, drop-pearl accessory was unquestionably a more feminine take on the choker style.
Blackpink’s “Pink Venom” music video, according to the group’s label YG Entertainment, is their most expensive to date. This is the highly anticipated second full-length Blackpink album Born Pink’s pre-release single after a 22-month layoff.
Since its release on last Friday, the “Pink Venom” music video has received over 209 million views and about 11 million likes on YouTube. Blackpink is undeniably at the forefront of fashion with “Pink Venom,” and the several legendary styles have us all in a daze.
