Why is “Travis Scott Death” trending online? According to this article, Scott was the latest victim of a death hoax online following alleged news that spread across the internet claiming that the rapper had died.

As the article mentions, in a new Facebook page that went live recently called “R.I.P Travis Scott” approximately one million ‘likes’ were amassed as users were reportedly convinced that the rapper had died. Here’s what the Facebook page allegedly wrote in the “About” section about the rapper’s supposed death that made waves on the internet:

At about 11 a.m. ET on Monday (September 25, 2023), our beloved rapper Travis Scott passed away. Travis Scott was born on April 30, 1992 in Houston. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.

This news was not confirmed by any legitimate sources but people were led to believe that the rapper had died suddenly based on the Facebook page’s “believable” note. As a result, hundreds of messages of condolences were left on the Facebook page grieving the rapper’s alleged death.

After learning that the news was not true, fans were angered that this false information was spreading online.

The 32-year-old rapper’s team made sure to address the death hoax, stating the following:

He [Travis Scott] joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He’s still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet.”
