Football Player Tyreek Hill Was Handcuffed Before Today’s Kickoff

September 8th, 2024 – Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill was handcuffed before today’s football game.

Police stopped football star Tyreek Hill before today’s football game between the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars. A video started circling on social media this morning of police attempting to arrest Hill. However, many fans are disturbed by the video because of how the police handled Hill during the attempted arrest. A few videos captured officers putting their knees on Hill’s back to restrain him. The act seemed necessary because Hill didn’t seem to be resisting.
There isn’t much context as to why he was stopped in the first place. However, the Dolphins released a statement just moments after the incident: “Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident about one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police. He has since been released.”.”Several teammates saw the incident and stopped to offer support. Tyreek and all other players involved have safely arrived to the stadium and will be available for today’s game.”.
The most recent updates on the case have detailed the fates of some of the officers involved in the incident. Director Stephanie V. Daniels of the Miami-Dade Police Department announced that one of the Hill detainment officers has been given “administrative duties” while Internal Affairs investigates. Tyreek still played in today’s game despite the incident before the game. Furthermore, more investigations are still being undertaken in this case.
