According to this source, David Grusch, a former U.S. intelligence official for the Air Force, spoke about extraterrestrial life and its connection with humans during the Congress into UAPs. UAP, “unidentified aerial phenomena,” is the official term used for UFOs. During the hearing, Grusch opened up about one mission over the Pacific Ocean in 2004 when radar controllers identified a strange, unknown object.

“The controller told us that these objects had been observed for over two weeks coming down from over 80,000 feet, rapidly descending to 20,000 feet, hanging out hours, and then going straight back up,” he said, as noted by BBC. He then portrayed the object as a “ping pong ball”, looking like a white “Tic Tac,” and traveling over the ocean.

In his statement, Grusch noted that the U.S. government has known about these objects since the 1930s. He then added that during his work for the military, he found out about a “multi-decade UAP crash retrieval and reverse engineering program.” However, he was not given many details about the program.

“I was informed in the course of my official duties of a multi-decade UAP crash retrieval and reverse engineering program to which I was denied access,” he said, as noted by AP.

Grusch then confessed that finding out about UAPs made him choose to become a whistleblower. However, his decision had negative consequences, as he faced retaliation.

“It was very brutal and very unfortunate, some of the tactics they used to hurt me both professionally and personally,” he said.

After Grusch’s testimony, The Pentagon denied the claims. According to Sue Gough, the Defense Department spokeswoman, investigators have not found “any verifiable information to substantiate claims that any programs regarding the possession or reverse-engineering of extraterrestrial materials have existed in the past or exist currently.”
