Here’s the story: Autumn Paige Strickland, a 38-year-old woman from Florence, Alabama, was reported missing on May 16, 2025. (here) She was reportedly last seen near the Stricklin Hotel on Court Street around 2 a.m., and then authorities issued a missing persons alert, expressing concern for her safety. (here)

On May 20, 2025, Florence police discovered human remains believed to be Strickland’s at a residence. The remains were reportedly found in a burn barrel on the property of 28-year-old Logan Rogers.

Rogers was initially charged with attempted murder, but the charges were upgraded to murder following the discovery of the remains (here).

According to court documents, Rogers allegedly struck Strickland with his 2012 Kia Soul on May 17, 2025. Reports indicate that Rogers supposedly circled back after the initial impact and struck her again (here). Investigators believe he attempted to destroy the remains by burning them when he seemingly returned to the scene with a pickup truck to remove her body.

Rogers was allegedly already waiting for trial for threatening to kill his parents, as outlined on Law & Crime YouTube.

It is unclear if there was a previous relationship between Rogers and Strickland.

Rogers is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Jail without bail, pending a court hearing. The remains have also been sent to a forensic lab for formal identification.
