The curious case of Brian Shaffer and how he went missing back in 2006 is still a hot topic to this day. According to a Reddit thread here, Shaffer was an Ohio medical student who went to the bar (UglyTuna Saloona) with some friends on March 31, 2006. Apparently, he was seen entering the bar on a security camera but was never captured leaving, as noted in this related article.

It has now been 18 years since Shaffer’s disappearance.

He was reportedly separated from his friends who thought he had gone home for the night but he was reported missing just a few days later when he wasn’t located and his cell phone went straight to voice mail.

According to this article, Brian’s mother had passed from cancer just three weeks prior to his disappearance.

Clues about disappearance?

According to this article, there was one clue about Shaffer’s disappearance. His girlfriend at the time had repeatedly called his cell phone for months following his alleged disappearance and at the 5-month mark, she finally heard ringing at the other end. However, no one picked up and this remains a mystery as to why this is so.

The story goes that Shaffer was seen at 1:55 talking to two women outside the bar, then going back inside. At 2 a.m. when the bar closed, his friends initially waited for him then seemingly assumed he had gone home for the night. Shaffer was not seen again.

Theories are running wild online regarding what may have happened to Shaffer as the anniversary of his disappearance has come and gone.

These are all supposed theories posted by Reddit users, because the mystery of Shaffer remains just that- a mystery.
