Kanye West Says Taylor Swift Is Why He’s Never Performed at the Super Bowl
Ye Reignites Taylor Swift Feud Over Halftime Snub
April 11, 2025: Kanye West, now legally known as Ye, is once again blaming Taylor Swift—this time for what he claims is his exclusion from the Super Bowl halftime show. In a now-deleted post shared to social media, the rapper suggested that a combination of controversial events, including his infamous 2009 MTV VMA moment with Swift, has led to him being “blocked from the mainstage.”
According to Ye, three moments stand out as the reason behind his absence: his “George Bush doesn’t care about Black people” comment during a 2005 Hurricane Katrina telethon, the Taylor Swift VMA incident in 2009, and his vocal support for Donald Trump, especially his public appearances wearing a MAGA hat.
“I’m not allowed to perform at the Super Bowl because of who I am and what I’ve done,” Ye reportedly wrote before deleting the post, as per
Controversial History Still Casting Shadows
Ye’s claim adds to a long list of controversies that have plagued his public image, particularly since 2022, when he made several antisemitic remarks that led to widespread backlash. Brands like Adidas and major talent agencies severed ties with him, impacting his presence in both music and fashion industries.
Despite his assertions, it’s worth noting that neither Ye nor Taylor Swift has ever performed at a Super Bowl halftime show, although both have massive global followings and chart-topping careers.
No Comment from Swift’s Camp
As of now, Taylor Swift has not responded publicly to Ye’s comments. The pop icon has recently been focused on her record-breaking Eras Tour and was a high-profile presence at this year’s Super Bowl, supporting boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

While Ye feels he’s been sidelined from the world’s biggest stage, it seems the drama between him and Swift is far from over—and still making headlines more than a decade later.
