According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, the condition is “a rare, progressive syndrome that affects the nervous system, specifically the brain and spinal cord.”
In addition, he says he was experiencing “spasms all over” prior to the diagnosis. To make matters worse, Devine was informed of this one month before the birth of his son.
“They told me that I have that literally a month before my son, Beau, was born,” Devine said. “And so I’m like, ‘Oh great, now I’m gonna die. He’s gonna be six years old and only know a crippled father.’”

Adam says that his condition, allegedly, is due to being hit by a 42-ton cement truck at 11 years old.
“I walked out, and I got clobbered, and taken under the wheel, and spit out, and I flew like 500 feet, they said, and [I] was helicoptered away,” Devine said.
The actor is currently married to Chloe Bridges, with whom he shares a child.
