According to Buzzfeed, Wicked stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo both underwent intense audition processes for their roles as Glinda and Elphaba.
“The audition for me was three hours of me singing and acting with two other actresses. It was a pretty emotional day” Says Cynthia.
Buzzfeed goes onto mention: As for Ariana, she said of her experience, “I had the opposite experience. I stalked [producer] Marc Platt for 10 years, wondering, when would an audition be possible?”

Many comments are spinning around online about the particular closeness of the two stars. Tears, hand-holding, and endearing voices flooded interviews as the two shared their overwhelming appreciation for their experience filming Wicked.

In one clip, an interviewer musters through tears: “This movie means so much to me. There are millions of kids like me who find refuge in the witches.”
“We can’t help it, we’re trying our best. There’s a lot of emotional things that happen, and we’re just going with it.” Says Cynthia.
