Blake Lively is making headlines again, this time due to a viral interview clip where she claims to have improvised a scene that involved touching her “A Simple Favor” co-star, Henry Golding.
Blake Lively Interview
The clip, which has resurfaced and gone viral on TikTok and X, shows Lively discussing the scene with director Paul Feig and co-star Anna Kendrick. Feig, 62, commended Lively for her contribution to the scene, acknowledging it was her idea to include the moment, despite it not being in the original script.

Lively, laughing with her fellow cast members, recalls the moment where her character takes matters into her own hands, physically intimately touching Golding’s character during their interaction. Feig approvingly remarks, “This is one of my favorite additions that you came up with,” while noting how Lively boldly took the initiative in the scene (noted here). The candidness of the moment and Lively’s sense of humor surrounding it made the video clip widely shared across social media.
Blake Lively Improvising A Simple Favor
As outlined in this viral video by user @elsrich, the “A Simple Favor” script claims that Lively was only supposed to hand Golding’s character a martini and talk to him about having “mommy and daddy time.” As a result, her controversial actions were seemingly improvised.

However, this resurfaced commentary comes amid a controversial legal battle that Lively is currently involved in. The actress recently filed a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and damaging her reputation. In the complaint, Lively reportedly referenced incidents of Baldoni allegedly improvising intimate scenes on set (such as kissing) that supposedly made her feel uncomfortable, however, people have claimed that these moments were outlined in the script. This has led some to draw comparisons between the A Simple Favor scene and the claims she has made in her legal filing.
