Reality TV stars Brandon Jones and Serene Russell, who got engaged on the eighth season of “Bachelor in Paradise,” have announced their split on Instagram. The couple shared a joint post on Monday, May 8, saying they have decided to end their engagement after months of trying to work things out privately.

Why Did Brandon and Serene Bachelor in Paradise Breakup?
The couple did not address the exact reason but released the following joint statement:
“We have tried to work privately on our relationship, which has been incredibly challenging in the public eye,” the post read. “This has been immensely hard to accept and painful, as there is a lot of love between the two of us.”
The statement continued: “We are deeply hurting and can only ask that there be no hate. The best path for us at this time is to try and move forward and heal from this as individuals.”

Brandon and Serene had been one of the strongest couples on the show, with their engagement being a fan-favorite moment during the finale. Serene had previously described their love as “life-changing” and Brandon had said he couldn’t imagine starting his happily ever after without her.
The couple had been planning to get married in 2024 and had hinted that they would keep the details of their nuptials secret. However, with the announcement of their split, those plans are now off the table.
“We’re still kind of trying to decide what kind of wedding we want,” Serene had told Life & Style in January. “But we’re definitely going to keep it a secret.”
