New York Fashion Week met its new and upcoming style icon. Meet Bretman Rock.
Meet Bretman Rock, a singer, songwriter, actor, actress, athlete, activist, a scientist on the side, star of crystal of the day-ay-ay-ay (yuh!), coconut water connoisseur, croc’s new collaborator, and now, this generation’s new style icon. The list goes on and continues to go further than anyone can imagine.
Recently, the Filipino content creator brought everything during his appearances in New York Fashion Week. And by everything, I mean e-very-thing! We’re talking Prada archive, shiny Richard Quinn suits, and head-to-toe Peter Do moment! It’s not surprising though since he has been known to serve us looks on his Instagram page; enough to earn him a spread in Teen Vogue. Let’s also not forget his 30-second cameo on Discord’s new ad, wearing none other than couture Iris Van Harpen! I mean, excuse me?! If that is not a major flex, then I don’t know what else is!
These exquisite looks–yes, including his yellow platform crocs– were only a prelude to what he had planned for fashion week. Rock collaborated with the stylist, Brian Meller and together, they provided us with at least a year’s worth of fashion inspo. Below are some of our favourite looks from Da Baddest, Bretman Rock.
Day 0 Archive
Let’s start with this pre-fashion week look. Rock wore a Prada top and Raf Simons trousers which are both an archive from season SS01 and AW18 respectively. The ensemble was finished off with white platform sneakers from Naked Wolfe and a white JW Pei purse.
Peter Do
Bretman attended Peter Do’s debut show wearing a velvet suit courtesy of the designer. The entire velvet number was from Peter Do’s Fall 2021 collection.
Richard Quinn
The content creator showed up at Bulgari’s NYFW kick-off party looking brighter than any jewelry in the room. He wore a crystal-embellished suit by Richard Quinn, complete with a headpiece fit for a true Leo like himself.
Michael Kors
As a true jack-of-all-trades, Rock’s versatility was exemplified when he attended Michael Kors’ show wearing a pinstriped double-breasted tunic that showed Rock’s sweeter side.
Robert Wun
Lastly, the outfit that took everyone’s breath away– Bretman in The Purple Full Look by the designer, Robert Wun. The pleats, the drama, the make-up (!) everyone might as well go home because this was IT! This was the look that truly stamped Rock’s name as the new style icon to watch out for!
