Bollywood star Deepika Padukone has allegedly decided to forgo her attendance at the highly anticipated MET Gala 2024

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City plays host to the illustrious MET Gala annually, a glamorous event celebrating iconic moments in fashion. Deepika Padukone, for three consecutive years, has captivated onlookers as a Global Ambassador from India, dazzling on the Gala’s renowned red carpet.

However, it appears that she may be absent from this year’s festivities due to scheduling conflicts- as per alleged insider sources.

Why did Deepika skip MET Gala?

Insiders privy to the situation have disclosed that Deepika Padukone is presently occupied with the filming of Singham 3 and the impending launch of Kalki 2898 AD, scheduled for May. Despite her pregnancy with Ranveer Singh, fans had eagerly hoped for Deepika to grace the MET Gala with her presence in a grand fashion.

A source reportedly claimed- “Deepika Padukone has been a regular on the MET Gala Red Carpet. It is only natural for fans to anticipate her appearance at this year’s MET Gala, especially considering she is India’s biggest global brand ambassador. However, Deepika is in the midst of filming for ‘Singham 3’ which is slated to release later this year along with ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ which is slated to release in May, both of which coincide with this year’s MET Gala. She will therefore not be attending this year’s event.” (noted here)

In 2017, Deepika Padukone made her MET Gala debut in a chic slip gown designed by Tommy Hilfiger, signifying the commencement of her role as India’s global ambassador at the esteemed fashion fundraiser gala. Subsequently, she graced the event in successive years, showcasing an array of extravagant ensembles.
