Known for his infectious smile and musical spirit, Taylor Hawkins was found dead in his hotel room while on the South American tour with his band the Foo Fighters.

The Foo Fighters are widely known for their frontman and former drummer of Nirvana Dave Grohl. Grohl asked Hawkins to be a part of the bad in the late 90s after Hawkins was seen touring on the Jagged Little Pill tour for Alanis Morrisette.

Hawkins was known for being one of the greatest drummers of this generation. He put his heart, soul and smile into all of his work, when he joined the Foo Fighters, he told Grohl that he wanted to try and make the band good, and he did.

The Foo Fighters really reignited a new generation of rock and have carried on a legacy for a lot of young musicians to look up to.

The Foo Fighters took to their Instagram page to make the announcement saying, “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the band writes. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.”

According to authorities a statement from the attorney general of Colombia has already made an announcement about what caused the death of the young 50-year-old. Antidepressants, benzodiazepines, and opioids were among the 10 substances found in Hawkins’ system.
