Women and girls are at heightened risk of gender-based violence, economic instability, and human rights violations. For so many of them, freedom and security are not options. Their own system, community, government, and domestic situation work against them – contributing to issues of abuse, trafficking, poverty, and social inequalities. No matter where they may be in the world, the fact that the home is the most dangerous place for many women and girls to be, is something we cannot -and will not- ignore and tolerate. It is one of the greatest threats to lasting peace and development and has tremendous costs to communities, societies, and their families.
The full right of women and girls to live free of violence and injustices leans on the protection of their human rights and on a commitment to work together to create a more generous, equitable, and sustainable world.
