Former NYPD Blue actress Kim Delaney has been charged due to suspicion of assault. In addition, her husband, James Morgan, is also facing charges for domestic violence.

As outlined in People, the actress has been arrested on a charge of felony assault with a weapon. Meanwhile, James Morgan, her husband, has been arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence. However, Morgan was released on bail. Sheriff’s Lt. Kenneth Jose Salgado stated that his bail is listed as $20,000.

The actress appeared in court on the 1st of April. According to a spokesperson, the L.A. District Attorney’s Office “declined to file charges against Kim Delaney and James Morgan due to insufficient evidence. ”According to People, Delaney’s representatives have not commented on her recent charges.

Prior to the incident, Delaney would frequently make loving posts about her husband on Instagram. For instance, the actress would caption her posts with phrases such as ”pure love.” She also marked her second wedding anniversary on her account, which included the caption ”your wife for life.”

Domestic violence is a serious problem, with actress  Sarah Hyland addressing why it’s an important issue to discuss at the Annual Gala for Variety Power of Women.

”While it is not the easiest topic to talk about, it is of the utmost importance that we do. I have been open about my experiences as a survivor and I want to support others,” said Hyland.
