Guerlain unveils a new collection of extracts from the L’Art & La Matière collection, Les Extraits Signature.

Prestigious French luxury brand, Guerlain, has launched the Les Extraits Signature collection, which pays homage to the longstanding tradition of Guerlain fragrances being built around a signature blend called “Guerlinade.” Derived from six key ingredients (vanilla, rose, bergamot, iris, tonka bean, and jasmine), this unique blend has been at the heart of the Maison’s iconic scents for generations. The Les Extraits Signature collection redefines the brand’s scent heritage focusing on each ingredient individually, highlighting its purest and most refined form. With a high concentration of fragrance, each scent is carefully crafted to showcase the beauty and depth of these materials.

The Golden Ratio

The golden ratio, a mathematical formula for ideal proportion, has influenced art and design since ancient Greece. Inspired by this pursuit of perfection, Guerlain’s Les Extraits Signature highlights the six key ingredients of its Guerlinade in their purest forms. At 30% intensity, these extracts showcase the Maison’s exceptional craftsmanship while elevating each raw material into a distinct and luxurious olfactory experience.

Les Extraits Signature Collection

Let’s discover the brand’s Les Extraits Signature collection together:
Iris Pallida Extrait 6 showcases the powdery, woody elegance of iris in its purest form, enriched with Maison-exclusive orris butter and enhanced by almond, musk, and sandalwood. 6 is the golden number of Guerlain Iris, as the Iris Pallida requires 6 years to develop its most beautiful olfactory characteristics.
Rose Centifolia Extrait 1 spotlights the floral, woody power of the Guerlain rose. It blends May rose absolute with Damask and Centifolia rose, and is accompanied by notes of frankincense and patchouli. For one month each year, its petals are harvested to conserve their fragrance. 1 is the golden number of Guerlain Rose Centifolia, as it calls for a maximum of 1 day between picking the blossoms at daybreak and transforming them.
Vanille Planifolia Extrait 21 demonstrates the rich, ambery, woody sweetness of Guerlain vanilla, enriched by notes of myrrh, white musk, and opopanine accord. A signature ingredient of Guerlain since 1925, vanilla has long defined the House’s amber fragrances, beginning with the creation of Shalimar. 21 is the golden number of Guerlain Vanilla Planifolia, as the Maison’s chosen organic vanilla planifolia must be cold-soaked in alcohol for 21 days in order to transform into a tincture.
Bergamote Fantastico Extrait 11 highlights the ambery vibrancy of bergamot in an intensified form, enhanced with petitgrain, guaiac wood, and the House’s signature opopanine accord. Bergamot helped establish the Maison’s legacy with its iconic Eau de Cologne Impériale created for Empress Eugénie. 11 is the golden number of Guerlain Bergamote Fantastico, as, for generations, it has been harvested for Guerlain by the Capua family in Calabria, Italy–at the start of the 11th month of the year.
Jasmin Grandiflorum Extrait 30 delivers the radiant floral essence of Guerlain jasmine, intensified with candied strawberry top notes and a smooth sandalwood base. It blends jasmine harvests from Grasse and Calabria to ensure exceptional quality and depth. 30 is the golden number of Guerlain Jasmin Grandiflorum, in which the Guerlain Perfumers have opted for low-temperature CO₂ extraction, at 30°C, to properly capture the heady, floral, and fruity perfume.
Tonka Sarrapia Extrait 75 highlights the spicy addictiveness of the Guerlain tonka bean, enriched with almond, coumarin, vanilla, cacao, and warm spices. 75 is the golden number of Guerlain Tonka Sarrapia, as the Tonka bean is renowned for its natural coumarin content of up to 75%, which bestows it with its almondy note.

The Beauty Behind the Bottle

Inspired by Guerlain’s historic Square Bottle from 1870, the Les Extraits Signature collection is reimagined in a gold, octagonal design, spotlighting a modern aesthetic. Crafted by Pochet du Courval for Guerlain, it features a golden label, an engraved bee motif, and is made with recycled glass. It is also refillable in select boutiques.
