August 26th, 2024 – Hailie Jade comments on some of her dad Eminem’s new songs.

The Death Of Slim Shady

Some of Eminem’s recent songs hit a nerve for his daughter, Hailie Jade. The rapper recently released an album titled “The Death of Slim Shady.” Many of the songs on the album focus on the rapper’s new beginnings as an artist, dad, husband, etc. Two of the songs on the album brought his daughter Hailie to tears.

Eminem’s album includes a song, “Somebody Save Me,” featuring singer Jelly Roll. The song depicts an alternate reality in which the rapper never got sober and missed family milestones. Hailie also expressed strong emotions about her dad and Skylar Grey’s song “Temporary,” a tribute to Hailie, which includes audio of her recorded when she was a baby. Hailie said she did know about some of her dad’s past struggles, but she didn’t realize how bad it had gotten at one point. Eminem has recently celebrated 16 years sober after a long battle with alcohol and prescription drug addictions. However, Hailie shared that she wasn’t crying because she was upset by the songs. Both songs made her think about her current life versus the possibility of one without her father.

“Watching the video back and listening to the songs, I feel like my parents did such a good job. Growing up, where I didn’t realize how bad things were, but now, as an adult, in hindsight, it’s so scary to think about. I think that’s why I get emotional so much, just thinking that that could have happened.”. Although their family has had a bit of a complicated history, it seems the Mathers/Scott Family are on a new track of life.
