Jodie Turner-Smith is the latest star to join the upcoming thriller, The Agency.

July 15, 2024 The Agency, which is based on the critically acclaimed French series, Le Bureau, will be shot in London, England, and stars Michael Fassbender. Rounding out the cast, Jodie will be joined by Jeffery Wright and Richard Gere.

The spy drama is based on the series The Bureau aka Le Bureau des Légendes.

Jodie, 37 was born in Peterborough, England to Jamaican parents. She shares one daughter with her ex-husband, Canadian actor Joshua Jackson.

Nina L. Diaz is the President of Content and CEO for Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios & Paramount Media Networks. Diaz recently released a statement regarding Jodie Turner-Smith’s new upcoming role and why she was the best choice.

She states that the network is thrilled to have Smith on board, and calls Jodie a force who captivates audiences with her raw, emotional power.

Plot

The Agency – the thriller centers around Martian, Fassbender’s character as a covert CIA operative. Martian is ordered by London to leave behind his secret life plus identity and return to London headquarters. When suddenly he is reunited with a former love and they rekindle their romance.

Jodie plays Sami Zahir, a professor of social anthropology. Sami has a history with Martian.

No details have been given as to the type of relationship between Sami and Martian, whether it will be business or romantic.

However, his career and past catch up to his present life as he tries to navigate through it all. He quickly finds out it is not so easy as his life turns into an international web of espionage.

The 10-part episodes of The Agency can be watched this fall on Paramount+ With Showtime.
