Justin Bieber Mourns The Death of his Beloved Grandfather
June 30, 2025: Justin Bieber shared an emotional tribute to his grandfather Bruce Dale who passed away on April 24th.
“I know ur watching down,” Justin Bieber wrote in an emotional post on Instagram, commemorating his late grandfather.
The “Sorry” singer’s grandfather, Bruce Dale, passed away “peacefully” on April 24th, according to an online obituary. He was 80 years old when he passed.
Justin Bieber’s Grandpa Dale Shared a Special Bond with Him
Ever since Bieber entered the spotlight, it has been clear that he and his grandfather shared a close and loving bond. As reported by People, Dale frequented Bieber’s concerts and appeared in his grandson’s docuseries Never Say Never (2011) and Justin Bieber: Seasons (2020).
In total, Dale had three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, including Justin and Hailey Bieber’s son Jack Blues.
Justin Bieber’s Emotional Tribute To Grandfather
On Instagram, Bieber posted an emotional message about his grandfather.
“Papa, I always took all ur money lol,” the 31-year-old joked. He reminisced about how he was always able to convince his grandfather “to spend on snacks at the hockey game on Friday nights.”
Bieber shared some sports memories he had with his grandfather, before saying, “I can’t wait to see you again soon in heaven.”
He continued, “Until then I know ur watching down probly still heckling Beatty or Fagon for missing that cross check call in the corner there lmfao”
Bieber ended his message with a heartfelt, “And I’ll sit and let myself remember all of the wonderful times we’ve had.”
Along with his message, Bieber shared an old photo of him and his grandfather. It shows a 15-year-old Bieber touching his grandfather’s face, a few days before his debut EP My World release.
