On one side, a traditional American brand recognized by its leading jeanswear; on the other side an iconic Japanese label famous for its quality, style, and creativity. The certainly successful Levi’s X BEAMS collab translates their epitomized off-duty aesthetics into an amazing Spring/Summer 2022 collection with basic, timeless pieces.

We all know Levi’s pretty well: founded by Levi Strauss & Co. in 1873, the brand is a symbol of classic American style, creating garments that reflect an effortless cool vibe. As well, BEAMS, which arose from a small shop in the Harajuku district, is largely recognized for its long history of taking classic Americana and reimagining it using a Japanese lens. Therefore, it seemed only natural for the two companies to unite forces and score this incredible collaboration.

The two gigantic clothing brands partnered up to create a line composed of super-wide versions of Levi’s traditional silhouettes, bringing a new take on the label’s original favourite fits. But not only the designs behind each piece in this collection were stretched to wider, baggier fits, as the elements in it are also presented in extra-wide sizes, such as pockets, co-branded patches and hang tags, and the button fly of the jeans.

The Levi’s X BEAMS lineup includes Super Wide Jeans inspired by the signature 501 classic button fly straight leg, added by a back patch – which is also attached to the inside of the Trucker Jackets -, featuring both the Two Horse pull in Levi’s red and the BEAMS logo in its iconic orange colour.

The Truckers in this collab are a mix of both Levi’s 1936 Type I and 1961 Type III Truckers, and – just like the jeans – they come in two versions: in a dark indigo rinse and in a vintage-inspired faded wash tone, both with special selvedge seams using BEAMS orange stitching instead of the classic red thread.

Tying up the collection, the Super Wide Logo T-shirt is a stretched version of Levi’s one pocket tee, designed in vintage style and featuring a screen-printed version of the back patch across the back of it.

This exclusive collection was intended to celebrate beauty in duality. The Levi’s X BEAMS Spring/Summer 2022 collection is available for purchase since January 6th at selected retailers worldwide and at Levi’s and BEAMS websites.
