Macaulay Culkin has given an update on his relationship with his estranged father. The former child actor expresses resentment to his father who pushed him to continue to act.

Macaulay Culkin is in the new season of Fallout.’ Culkin had his breakthrough role in the beloved Chris Columbus film Home Alone.’In addition, Chris Columbus told the Hollywood Reporter that he hopes Culkin continues along this career path.

“I would still like to see Mack act more often. I haven’t spoken to him in a while, but I read that he’s doing [‘Fallout’ season two]. So it would be great to see him embrace acting again because he’s really great,” said Columbus.

The former child star took a hiatus from acting before returning in 2003. In addition, Culkin has been open about how pressure from his father resulted in him feeling trapped in his acting career.

The actor recently spoke about his estranged father on an episode of Sibling Revelry.

“I remember talking to my father, and I said, ‘I’m getting tired. I think I need a break.’’

Obviously his father, Kit Culkin, continued to push the young boy. In recent years, Culkin has also accused Kit of, allegedly, being “mentally and physically” abusive. Culkin eventually took a break from acting in 1994 after his parents separated.

“I even wanted to take a break for a while, and eventually I was like, ‘I’m done guys. Hope you all made your money because there is no more coming from me,’” Culkin said.

Culkin is currently engaged to Brenda Song, who is also a former child actor. The two have three sons together and Culkin appears to be happy.
