According to Rolling Stone, the auction was part of a series of auctions that Turner Classic Movies (TCM) organized. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will go towards researching plant medicines for Breast Cancer, with John sadly losing her battle with Breast Cancer at 73 in August 2022.
