Today, Doug Ford and his officials have announced a 3 step plan to help reopen the province safely.
Just last week Doug Ford gave an announcement that the province will be in lockdown for another 2 weeks and will end on June 2nd. As of today, Ford announced a plan that will help reopen the province as vaccines are rolling out and numbers are looking better.
This plan first allows most outdoor activities including golf, tennis, to resume as early as Saturday, May 22nd. This is a great approach as we head into the Victoria Day long weekend.
This 3 step plan is going to gradually work with a 21 day period in between each step to ensure safe measure are being taken and will work throughout the summer until August.
The first step- outdoor activities can resume, including gatherings of 10 people and outdoor dining of 4 people per table; non-essential retail can resume at 15% capacity.
The second step- more outdoor activities can open, and limited indoor with small numbers of people. Outdoor gathers can include up to 25 people, sports leagues can resume, including personal care services. All indoor gatherings will require face coverings.
the third step- opening indoor activities with restrictions. Indoor sports and recreational, dining, libraries, casinos will require face masks, and still include capacity limits.
With this, they hope that over the summer more and more people will be vaccinated. As the summer continues and outdoor activities allow for more space and less transition, they hope the province can resume being fully open by the end of summer. This includes at school learning to reopen in September and hopefully, businesses and restaurants can have more capacities.
