Robert De Niro grandson – TMZ recently announced what caused the death of Leandro de Niro, who passed away in July. Even though his mother, Drena de Niro, mentioned what had potentially caused the death in the comment section of an Instagram story, an official statement was issued earlier this month.
According to the outlet, New York City’s chief medical examiner stated that Leandro’s death resulted from “the toxic effects of fentanyl, bromazolam, alprazolam, 7-aminoclonazepam, ketamine, and cocaine.”

Drena de Niro, Robert de Niro’s daughter and Leandro’s mother, addressed the topic via Instagram when she responded to a comment that asked why her son died.
“Someone sold him fentanyl laced pills that they knew were laced yet still sold them to him. For all these people still f–king around selling and buying this s–t, my son is gone forever,” the actress wrote on Instagram.
The death of the 19-year-old was announced firstly by his mother on her social media.
“My beautiful sweet angel . I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly .You have been my joy my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life . I wish I was with you right now. I wish I was with you . I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama .” she wrote.
According to this article, the teenager was found unconscious in his apartment and was “pronounced dead at the scene.”
