Rosie O’Donnell has moved to Ireland. The entertainer took to TikTok to share the reason behind the move.

13th March, 2025-O’Donnell recently revealed on TikTok that she has moved to Ireland. Specifically, O’Donnell made the move with her 12-year-old daughter Dakota, who goes by the nickname Clay. Rosie has used TikTok as a platform to discuss relevant events and issues before. However, this is obviously the first time she has moved countries in protest.

In her post, O’Donnell does consider moving back to America in the future, but the comedian makes it clear that this will only happen if the current political climate changes.

“And when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back,” stated O’Donnell.

In her post, O’Donnell revealed that she and Clay moved on the January 15th, and they are currently in the process of obtaining Irish citizenship. Nonetheless, O’Donnell is still sad about leaving her old life behind.

“I miss my other kids. I miss my friends. I miss many things about life there at home, and I’m trying to find a home here in this beautiful country,” said the actress.

Despite feeling mournful about leaving, O’Donnell firmly believes that this is the best decision for herself and Clay.

“Although I was never someone who thought I would move to another country, that’s what I decided would be the best for myself and my 12-year-old child,” stated O’Donnell.

Moreover, O’Donnell isn’t the only celebrity to move abroad within the past few months. For instance, Ellen DeGeneres and Richard Gere are among many celebrities who have left the United States.
