Sam Smith Barbie Premiere – Sam’s outfit on the red carpet of Barbie’s premiere was critiqued by fans online.
Sam Smith chose to wear a baggy outfit on Wednesday at the Barbie premiere in London. Even though his oversized sweatshirt and wide jeans are part of the Vetements spring-summer 2024 collection, Smith did not positively impress the public with his choice.

Several people commented on the outfit on this Twitter thread. “That’s possibly the worst outfit I’ve ever seen,” one user wrote. “I have never seen this person in one normal outfit since 2017”, another person said. “Wow, didn’t know Sam Smith was auditioning for the role of Ken.” another tweeter posted.
According to TMZ, Sam, who uses they/them pronouns, is not part of the movie’s cast. However, they have one unreleased song in the movie’s soundtrack list, Man I Am.

While Sam Smith wore a baggy outfit for the event, Margot Robbie channeled her inner Barbie by going for a 1960s-era Enchanted Evening Barbie look. During an interview on the red carpet that night, the actress opened up about what the movie means to her.
“To really do something unexpected and fun and clever and silly on such a big scale, it feels like a very unique opportunity. Barbieland feels like a female utopia. But you do, by the end of the film, see the flaw in that – I mean, a hierarchy in anyone’s power is not necessarily the best thing. But it is fun, it’s very pretty.” she said, as noted by this article.
