HOLR’s Editor-In-Chief Ksenia had a chance to chat with Bachelor in Paradise Star Kevin Wendt on his contest and fundraising event with the SickKids Foundation. Wendt talks inspirations, what people can expect, and what other previous Bachelor contestants will be attending! 

 

HOLR: What made you want to get involved with SickKids?

KW: I’ve always had a special place in my heart for organizations that focus on helping children. Being apart of the Bachelor franchise helped me build a platform, that I knew I could leverage for positive change, starting within my community. I knew right from the start I wanted to partner with SickKids and see how I could get involved.

 

HOLR: What inspired you to do this particular event as a fundraiser?

KW: I’ve had the pleasure to attend a number of bachelor franchise events supporting a variety of charities with friends from the cast and saw how big of an impact they have made. So I figured “I can do this to! Why not host my own event in Toronto?” Not only was this an opportunity to support an amazing cause, but also show my Bachelor family a good time in the six!

 

HOLR:What goals do you have for the fundraising event?

KW: My goal is to make this an annual event! I know the first year will be the most challenging so we are working hard to make it a fun event, raise lots of money, and hopefully make it something people will look forward to each year.

 

HOLR: What can people expect from the night?

KW:  The event is a social in benefit of SickKids. An opportunity to mingle with the cast, fun photo ops, great music (DJ and live performers), a red carpet experience, Canadian themed foods, and cocktails. And of course, denim on denim theme in true Canadian fashion!

 

HOLR:  If someone can’t attend the event, what other ways can they get involved?

KW: We’re lucky enough to have enough volunteers for the event, but for those who would like to get involved, we are still encouraging donations! Please visit he link in my Instagram bio (@kevin.c.wendt) to donate.

 

HOLR:  Which of the other previous Bachelor/Bachelorette contestants will be attending the event?

KW: Astrid, Jason, Blake, Jordan (the model), Bibiana, Alexis, and Vanessa have been confirmed so far. A surprise guest to be announced later…
