Per a related article, Sophie Turner’s legal team requested a judge to reactivate divorce proceedings between herself and her estranged husband Joe Jonas.

Jonas, 34, initially filed divorce proceedings in Miani-Dade County, Florida back in September 2023. Divorce documents revealed that the marriage was “irretrievably broken,”

Around the same time, Turner and Jonas released a joint statement on social media explaining they were ending their marriage and asked for privacy for themselves and their two children.

As previously reported by HOLR, divorce proceedings between the two parties took several turns. Turner allegedly didn’t know Jonas filed divorce papers until after reading about it in the media.

After the filing, the former couple initially agreed to allow their two children to live “equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the UK,” and to co-parent their children. However, Turner later filed a wrongful retention claim against Jonas, claiming he was withholding their children’s passports, rendering them unable to travel to the UK.

After both Turner and Jonas signed a “consent plan” that a UK judge approved on January 11, a U.S. judge dismissed the wrongful retention claim.

Following her request to reactivate the divorce proceedings, Turner’s legal team stated “the abatement has come to an end and this case is to be re-activated,”

As of publication, Jonas has yet to provide a comment.
