Luxury- and local!- swimwear brand, Navy Ray was spotted in the Sports Illustrated (SI) Swimwear show at this year’s Miami Swim Week.

Environmental commitment
All of the brand’s swimwear fabric is made with 78% ECONYL® regenerated nylon. In utilizing fiber made from pre and post-consumer waste -such as fishing nets, fabric scraps, and carpet fluff- Navy Ray slows down the production of new plastic.
In addition, ECONYL® regenerated nylon has the same qualities as regular nylon. However, it can be recycled, recreated, and remolded over and over again.
In keeping the process local, all Navy Ray pieces are designed and manufactured in Toronto, Canada. Using local workers allows the brand to be involved in the entire production process from start to finish. It also helps to ensure that there’s the least possible waste in materials. As a result, Navy Ray uses Certified Home Compostable bags that biodegrade safely in a backyard compost within 180 days.
In detailing the brand’s environmental commitment, Lina said:
“With the “Navy Ray” brand, I aim not only to reduce the impact but also to use the brand’s voice to raise awareness for the beauty and fragility of our oceans. We donate 3% of our profits to “Parley for the Oceans” an environmental organization and global collaboration network. ”
