The official maker of the United Kingdom’s coins recently announced a Star Wars vehicle collection of 50 pence coins, with the famous Millennium Falcon herself the first to be released.

Described as a collaboration between The Royal Mint, Disney, and Lucasfilm, the coin depicts the famous starship with the franchise and ‘Starbird’ Rebel Alliance logos on one side of the coin. King Charles III is on the other side. It also includes a pamphlet on how the actual Millennium Falcon was built by a UK-based company.

The coin is described as “[t]he first of four new releases inspired by iconic vehicles within the Star WarsTM franchise,”

Although yet to be officially released, The Royal Mint’s website also shows the other three coins in the new collection will depict the Death Star, a TIE Fighter, and an X-Wing.

Last year marked the first time the Wales-based coin maker created Star Wars-inspired coins for the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. Those coins depicted characters from the iconic film franchise such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Chewbacca.

The Millennium Falcon is best known as the starship of smuggler Han Solo and his copilot Chewbacca. The ship is one of the most iconic in the entire Star Wars franchise.
