For months Swifties have been picking up hints that ‘1989’ will be Taylor Swift’s next rerecorded album released. Now the speculation can be put to rest as it has now been confirmed that Swift’s next album will be ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’!

She officially announced it at her final U.S show of the Eras Tour. During her acoustic set she said, “There’s something I’ve been planning for a really, really, really ridiculously, embarrassingly long time….” and then the official album cover filled the screen behind her. Check out the full announcement video below!

Taylor posted a separate announcement on her social media accounts; saying: “Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you? ! The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th. To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!

This comes after the releases of ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)‘, ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ and ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ all of which have broken records. ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version) became the first re-recorded album in history to top the Billboard charts. ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ became the most-streamed album in a day from a female artist on Spotify (breaking her own record). ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) helped Swift break the record for most No. 1 albums by a female artist.

‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ is set to release October 27th, 2023. You can preorder it here: https://store.taylorswift.com
