Taylor Swift Speaks Out For The First Time Following The Vienna Terrorist Plot

August 22nd, 2024 – Taylor Swift speaks out about the Vienna terrorist plot for the first time.

Taylor Swift Vienna Statement

Taylor Swift has commented on the terrorist plot at her show in Vienna for the first time. Around two weeks ago, Taylor Swift was supposed to perform in Vienna, Switzerland, for her Eras Tour. However, before the show could begin, a small group of teenagers were found plotting a terrorist attack on the show. The show was quickly canceled for safety reasons, and Swift continued her tour, having to skip the Vienna shows.

“Having our Vienna shows canceled was devastating,” she wrote in a statement posted to Instagram on Wednesday. “The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows.”. She went on to thank authorities for stopping a mass casualty event. Saying now fans will only mourn the concert and not other people. Taylor stayed quiet for a while in an effort to keep her fans who were going to upcoming shows safe. “Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows,” she wrote.

Prior to the Vienna plot, a stabbing at a Swift-themed dance class left three little girls dead in the U.K. Swift said she was “just completely in shock” and “at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.” News outlets reported that Swift met with some of the survivors backstage in London. As of now, Taylor has finished her shows in London. Furthermore, the Eras Tour will be on hiatus until October.
