Terrance Bethel and Faron Newbold: Key Figures in the Lindsay Shiver Murder-for-Hire Case

June 6, 2025: In July 2023, Bahamian authorities arrested Lindsay Shiver, a former beauty queen from Georgia, along with her alleged lover, Terrance Bethel, and accused hitman, Faron Newbold Jr., in connection with a purported plot to murder Shiver’s estranged husband, Robert Shiver, a former Auburn University football player.

The Alleged Murder Plot

The investigation began when Bahamian police, probing an unrelated burglary at a local bar, uncovered WhatsApp messages on Lindsay Shiver’s phone. These messages reportedly included a photograph of Robert Shiver accompanied by the directive “kill him,” sent to both Bethel and Newbold. Authorities allege that Bethel, a 28-year-old bartender, and Newbold, 29, conspired with Shiver to carry out the murder-for-hire scheme.

Legal Proceedings and Bail Conditions

Following their arrests, all three individuals were charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Bethel and Newbold were granted bail set at $20,000 each, with conditions including wearing ankle monitors and regular check-ins with Bahamian police. Shiver was initially released on a $100,000 bond but later had her bail revoked after participating in media interviews, which the court deemed a violation of her release terms.

Denials and Public Statements

Terrance Bethel has publicly denied any involvement in the alleged plot, stating in an interview with Good Morning America, “Nobody ever wanted [Robert] dead. I’m definitely not guilty of conspiracy to commit murder, and [Faron] is not guilty of being a hired hitman.”

Current Status

As of May 2025, all three defendants have pleaded not guilty to the charges. The case has garnered significant media attention due to the high-profile nature of the individuals involved and the serious allegations. Legal proceedings are ongoing, with further court dates anticipated in the coming months.
