Terrance Bethel and Faron Newbold: Key Figures in the Lindsay Shiver Murder-for-Hire Case
Terrance Bethel
May 12, 2025: Terrance “Adrien” Bethel and Faron “Faylo” Newbold Jr. are central figures in a high-profile murder-for-hire case involving former beauty queen Lindsay Shiver. In July 2023, Bahamian authorities arrested the trio for allegedly conspiring to kill Shiver’s estranged husband, Robert Shiver, a former Auburn University football player.
The Alleged Plot
The case came to light when Bahamian police, investigating a break-in at Grabbers Bar and Grill on Great Guana Cay, discovered incriminating messages on a suspect’s phone. Lindsay Shiver reportedly sent a WhatsApp message to Bethel and Newbold containing a photo of her husband with another woman and the words “Kill him.”
Arrests and Charges
On July 21, 2023, authorities arrested Lindsay Shiver, Terrance Bethel, and Faron Newbold, charging them with conspiracy to commit murder. All three have pleaded not guilty.
Legal Proceedings and Bail
Initially, Bethel and Newbold were released on $20,000 bail, with conditions including wearing ankle monitors and regular check-ins with Bahamian police. However, in October 2024, a judge revoked the bail for Shiver and Bethel after they appeared on television, violating pre-trial publicity restrictions. Both were returned to custody at Fox Hill Prison in the Bahamas. Newbold remains free on bail.
Denials and Public Statements
Terrance Bethel has publicly denied any involvement in a murder-for-hire plot, stating, “Nobody ever wanted Robert dead.” He maintains that neither he nor Newbold are guilty of the charges against them.
