Terre Bleu was founded by husband and wife duo Ian and Isabelle Baird, who fell in love with a lavender farm while taking a holiday together in Quebec. Inspired by the remarkable fields of purple and the fragrant air, they decided to move from downtown Toronto, along with their family, to start farming their own organic lavender. In 2011 the Bairds planted their first 10,000 lavender plants, and in 2014, the farm opened to the public. Today, the family-run business is the largest lavender farm in Ontario and has over 65,000 lavender plants, as well as many other herbs and flowers spread over the farms’ 200 acres.

LOHN is a Toronto-based company founded by the dynamic duo, Vic and Kat. Before the company’s inception, Vic started working in cosmetic product development and Kat went to Versailles, France to study perfumery. After keeping in touch, they finally reconnected with one another and began their own endeavour of starting a scent company designed to transport people to another time and place.

The brands have come together for a productive and informative event intended to teach guests about the power of scent. Attendees were given a selection of divine essential oils (including lavender essential oil) to mix and match to create their own unique perfume oil, all with the help of LOHN, whose workshop tips and tricks helped those discover how to properly pair scents. Throughout the event, guests were also virtually transported to Terre Bleu to discover the farm and its lavender process. Terre Bleu founder, Ian, described how Terre Bleu can grow 8 different varieties of lavender and, as result, the state of their blooms varies continuously. However, they also harvest the blooms at peak times to develop the best handmade lavender products.
