According to this TikTok video posted by user @enews, Lizzie McGuire writer Jonathan Hurwitz allegedly revealed the beginning storyline of the reboot that got canceled.

Lizzie McGuire Reboot Cancelled
As you can see in the TikTok video, Hurwitz seemingly revealed the plot of the canceled reboot, claiming that the story was going to start in New York, where Lizzie (played by Hilary Duff) has been working and living as an interior designer. He also claims that she has been dating a very handsome chef. However, she finds out that he has been cheating on her with her best friend.
At the end of the pilot episode, she reportedly goes home to California and she’s seen in her childhood bedroom where animated Lizzie has been waiting for her.

Allegedly, in this TikTok video posted by user @carliemcguire, additional episode plotlines were also seemingly revealed. Supposedly, at the end of Episode 2, Lizzie would’ve gotten a text from her old crush Ethan Craft. Then, in Episode 3 (which reportedly wasn’t filmed), it is alleged that Lizzie would wake up in Ethan’s bed, alluding to the two possibly hooking up.

As noted here, the reboot was ultimately canceled due to the original creator, Terri Minsky, stepping away from the show. As a result, the network seemingly canceled the show due to creative differences. It was also alleged- but remains unconfirmed- that the show was canceled due to being too mature for Disney +’s audience.
