Zac Efron is willing to play a younger version of  Matthew Perry in a film about his life

More than two weeks have already passed since Matthew Perry, Friends star, passed away. However, many of his fans and his family are still filled with the heart-wrenching he brought. Furthermore, Zac Efron is also one of them and has mourned Matthew’s death.

Before Matthew died, he released his biography, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir, on November 1, 2022. He was eager to make it into a movie, which remained to be realized because of his death.

Matthew’s close friend, Athenna Crosby, who dined with him a day before the death, said that “he wanted to make a movie about his life”(According to Entertainment Tonight) and hoped to ask Zac Efron to play a younger version of him. Moreover, Zac Efron also said, “I heard that, it’s a huge honor to think he was thinking of me for that role, I mean I would be honored to do it, to be honest.”Crosby also shared, “He had worked with Zac Efron in the past on a movie, and he said that he wanted Zac Efron to play him as a younger version [of himself] and that he was gonna ask him soon to do that. He was just looking forward to sharing more about his story and his recovery from addiction, and really championing that cause to help more people, so he was so optimistic and happy about everything that he wanted to do.”(Also from Entertainment Tonight)

Matthew Perry’s official death certificate came out, but the cause of death is being deferred.

The death certificate released recently uncovered the situation at the time of the death. Matthew Perry passed away at 4:17 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, at the age of 54. In addition, he was found unconscious in his hot tub. Yet, the cause of death still needs to be clarified by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. Indeed, the late Matthew underwent an autopsy. However, it will take more time to identify the death cause. Furthermore, per CDC guidance on filing death certificates, a supplemental report will update the death certificate. Additionally, it is already widely recognized that the late Matthew had been addicted to drugs for parts of his life, which Matthew himself admitted in his autobiography.
