Actress AdjoaAndoh, popular for playing Lady Danbury in #Bridgerton and QueenCharlotte, is being criticised for her comments about KingCharles’ coronation. The actress said, “we’ve gone from the rich diversity of the abbey to a terribly white balcony”, during today’s TV coverage. The coronation ceremony took place at Westminster Abbey with over 2,000 guests, whereas the Buckingham Palace balcony is usually restricted to members of the Royal Family. In the video, Andoh can be heard saying, “We have gone from the rich diversity of the Abbey to a terribly white balcony.” She is referring to King Charles III’s family as they stood on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the Coronation to wave to onlookers.

Piers Morgan then joined in on the conversation below in a clip reposted by user @bossclipsofficial.

Andoh has received backlash for her comment and has reportedly since apologized. “I was talking about the day and how marvellous it was and then looking at the balcony at the end and suddenly went, ‘Oh, it’s so white’ because the day had been so, so mixed and I didn’t mean to upset anybody,” said Adjoa, addressing her initial remark as noted here.
