AP Threatens Crowd With R. Kelly Music

After reviewing the video via TMZ, Anderson was DJing the night of the event. AP played a mix of new wave and funk records; however, the crowd didn‘t seem to be responding to the music as he had hoped. To liven up the atmosphere, Paak’s trumpet player MauriceMobetta Brown joined him on stage, but the crowd still wasn‘t getting into the groove. AP then noticed one particular audience member who seemed to be preventing the others from dancing, so he powered through his set and even played the drums to close it out.

At one point, Paak gets frustrated,

“What the f**k is it going to take?” He says, “I’m going to play some R. Kelly if you don’t start dancing, I swear to god.”

Apparently, all he needed was to say those words because once he did, the crowd went crazy and started dancing.

Paak and Bruno Mars joined forces to create the Grammy-winning collaborative duo, ‘Silk Sonic’. They combine their unique talents to create a soulful blend of R&B, funk, and hiphop. Their debut album, An Evening With Silk Sonic, was released in 2021 and features the hit singleLeave the Door Open.”

At last year’s Grammy Awards, the duo took home four awards. From there, it led to a residency in Vegas. At their Las Vegas shows, there is no phone policy in order for the audience to engage and be present.

Clearly, Paak will not be reconsidering the ‘no phones’ policy for any shows moving forward.
