Charli XCX’s Coachella set is going down as one of the best in the festival’s history. Despite not being a headliner, attendees have been clear that Charli was the highlight of the event.

According to Billboard, Charli’s set began at roughly 7:20 p.m. when the opening notes to “365” began. Shortly afterwards, the singer appeared at the centre of the stage. In true Charli fashion, she wore a stunning black outfit that would make any frequent rave attendee jealous.

Reportedly, most agree that Charli’s stage presence was a major factor in the success of her set. “You ready to sing? Louder,” Charli said to the crowd before singing the chorus of  “Von Dutch.”

However, much to the crowd’s delight, she ended up bringing out some of the collaborators she worked with for Brat. Specifically, Charli did performances with Troye Sivan, Billie Eilish, and Lorde.

Troy Sivan is featured on Charli’s song “Talk Talk.” According to Billboard, the two share great stage chemistry and appear to be good friends off-stage. Troy and Charli even had a joint tour together in 2024 called Sweat Tour.

Later on, Lorde came on stage to sing her part on the “Girl, So Confusing” remix. The song and its subsequent remix are based on an alleged feud between the two artists. Charli even admitted to Rolling Stone that she felt jealous of Lorde when she found success with “Royals” in 2013.

“She had big hair; I had big hair. She wore black lipstick; I once wore black lipstick. You create these parallels and think, ‘Well, that could have been me,’” she said. “I think you just read what you want into it because you’re feeling insecure about your own work.”

Charli allegedly contacted Lorde for the remix, which resulted in an introspective dance song that examines friendship breakups and miscommunications.

“I don’t know if you like me / Sometimes I think you might hate me / Sometimes I think I might hate you,” she sings.

The performance quickly went viral online, with Charli declaring a “Lorde summer 2025”at the end.

Billie Eilish reportedly came on stage shortly afterwards, where she performed her part of the “Guess” remix.

Charli has hinted at a new album and musical direction recently. However, the impact of her album Brat will go down in pop-culture history.
